This area is located within the Suisun Marsh, in Solano County. It is owned and operated by CDFW.
There are approximately 7,900 acres open to hunting. Grizzly Island Wildlife Area Complex is divided into several units.
Birds: waterfowl, pelicans, raptors.

- Take I-680 north to I80 ($5 toll across Benicia Bridge)
- Take I-80 east to Highway 12
- Take Highway 12 east for about 3.5 - 4 miles to Grizzly Island Road
- Turn right on Grizzly Island Road and follow this main road for 9.2 miles to the main visitor's parking lot
We will meet in this parking lot between 8:45 - 9:00AM.
Note: The 9.2 mile stretch on Grizzly Island Road will include a one-lane bridge at 1.2 miles.
Drive past the sign to Rush Ranch Open Space at 2.4 miles and a large bridge at 5.5 miles. Also,
at 8.9 miles the road splits in to a paved portion (to the left) and a gravel portion (to the right).
Be sure to stay on the paved road at 8.9 miles by veering to the left.

**A herd of elk is on the island and may be seen by those who wish to stay after and explore on their own.
