Sunflower chips are sunflower seeds without the hulls (shells) and are hands down the most popular seed available. They come in either a medium grind or finely ground. There are advantages for you and for the birds. Since there is no shell there is less mess under the feeder and if it falls to the ground it will not grow. The birds love this seed and it is easier for the birds to eat. Even some insectivores will eat chips.
